Cauliflower Peas Stir Fry / Gobi Peas Fry / Cauliflower Batani Vepudu

gobi peas stir fry

Cauliflower Green Peas Fry is a very easy and simple dish that can be prepared in no time. The first time I saw this curry, ( that was almost some 10 years back ), I fell in love with the colours of this curry - yellowish orange and green -
very bright and appealing for the eyes. After tasting it, the soft peas just melted in my mouth and I became a great big fan of this curry. Very tasty and yummy dish that goes well with rice or roti.

Cauliflower is a very good source of Vit C and Vit K. Gobi combines well with any veggie like potato, beans, carrot, beetroot, brinjal, and even pulses as well like rajma, channa, etc,. Today's combo is cauliflower with green peas which is a favourite for most of them. I used fresh green peas here in this recipe. If you cannot get fresh peas, you can use the frozen peas.

Preparation :

Heat oil in a pan.

Once the oil is hot, add mustard and cumin seeds and allow them to splutter.

Add chopped onions and fry until they turn translucent.

Add broken red chillies and turmeric powder.

Now add copped cauliflower florets and mix well.

Add salt and sugar and cover with lid.

Cook for a few minutes stirring occasionally. When the florets are three-fourth done, add fresh green peas. Cover with lid. Stir occasionally. ( If you are using frozen peas, then add a little later when the cauliflower florets are almost done ).

When the green peas are cooked soft, add chilli powder and garam masala powder. Mix well. Check for salt and spice.

Serve hot with rice or chapathi.
