Ganesh Chaturthi Special Recipes
Hey
friends, I wish all of you a very happy festive Vinayaka Chavithi or Ganesh
Chathurthi, 2017. Everybody must be busy planning for shopping for flowers,
fruits, idol of Lord Ganesha, groceries for preparing Naivedhyam since it is
just another few days to go. All goes well if the planning goes well. So guys,
please plan your tasks ahead in time to avoid the last minute tensions and
hurries. I usually go for shopping 2
days ahead of the Puja day. I store the perishable items like flowers and
fruits in the refrigerator until required.
Plan all
your preparations for the puja day in advance. Plan what you want to prepare
for Naivedhyam to Lord Ganesha. Accordingly keep all the ingredients aside and
ready. Keep all the decoration items like the mandap, turmeric powder, kumkum,
etc., all ready.
Since
this is my first Vinayak Chavithi since I have started blogging, I have very
few recipes listed in the Naivedhyam category. My promise to you that I will
update with the remaining recipes as well in the near future. Some of the items
that are in the list includes the following.
Paala undrallu Or Undrallu Payasam
This is
the most famous and common dish that is prepared on the occasion of Vinayaka
Chavithi especially in the southern part of India. Paala undrallu or undrallu
payasam is a delicious dessert that is very easy to prepare. The rice flour
balls are pampered with sweetened milk mixture and are considered as one of the
favourites of Lord Ganesha.
Pappu lo undrallu
This is
yet another dessert recipe prepared especially for Lord Vinayaka. In this
recipe, the rice flour balls are mixed in the sweetened lentils ( toor dal )
resulting in a healthy and delicious sweet dish.
Nuvvula undrallu
Nuvvulu
means sesame seeds in Telugu. The rice flour undrallu are mixed up with the
sweetened milk mixture along with sesame and poppy seeds powder. The addition
of sesame and poppy seeds gives a unique flavour to the sweet. The crunchy
sesame seeds gives a lovely grainy texture to the nuvvula undrallu and is a
must try for this festive season of Ganesh Chathurthi.
Senagala Talimpu
Senagala
talimpu is nothing but sundal in Tamil. The black chick peas are soaked,
cooked and tempered with mild spices resulting in a homely and heavenly snack
suiting the best for the festive season. This dish can be prepared with any
kind of peas.
Poornam Boorelu
These
boorelu are yet another sweet variety that are very famous in the states of
Andhra and Telangana. I have made with
whole moong dal along with jaggery making the boorelu very healthy and yummy at
the same time. They are the perfect sweet for any festive season. The outer
skin of these boorelu is made with instant batter making the whole process very
easy and less time consuming.
Banana Appalu
Banana
appalu are very easy to make during festive seasons. They are less time
consuming and can be made with very few ingredients that are commonly available
in our kitchen. They are very tasty - crunchy on the outside and soft on the
inside.
Kobbari undalu
These
coconut laddus can also be prepared very easily with just three ingredients. It
would not take much time as well to make these ladoos. You can just prepare the
dough and can handover the task of giving shapes to laddus to kids who enjoy
doing such tasks. And moreover, festivals are great occasions to have quality
family time.
Finally, I wish all my viewers a very happy Vinayaka Chavithi. Have a great quality and family time.
